I love photography. It gives one the opportunity to capture moments in time. Every photograph has a story. I created this blog to share with family, friends and clients my photos and the stories that go with them. Enjoy your visit and I'd love to hear any stories that come to mind.

This is a photo-shoot inspired by Vaudeville. I'll be using these images to add to my portfolio to advertise a new service I will be providing, Boutique Photography. This is going to be a super fun adventure for me, this branch out. It will include scouting locations, finding props, the perfect costumes and a lot of interaction with my clients. These aren't your typical sit down photos you get at Walmart or Sears. These photo-shoots are on location, in full costume and full of theatrics and fantastical imagination. These are for fun and totally awesome. These shoots will be offered as package deals and there is a package for every budget. I'll get into all that shortly but for now I'll get into this shoot and the stuff you need to know as a portfolio participant.

Why am I doing this for free?
Well, this is practice for me and I don't currently have any photos to show clients I can actually do this. I'm sure if you were planning on purchasing a package you would want to know what I was capable of as a photographer and creative thinker. These images will go into my portfolio of ad photos. Consent forms will be passed out before the shoot.

What are these consent forms?
These forms basically say I have permission to use your images to show others what I'm capable of. They also state that I'm not going to use these photos for anything shady. For example, your image will never end up on some scandalous website nor will I do anything weird to your photos to make you look bad or shame you. The forms also state that at anytime you can call me up and ask me to take your photos down and I will comply. It basically protects us both.

What about costumes and props?
Well this is where things get fun and I get to have more interaction with my clients than I normally would. You will have a say in which props and costumes you use. I will ask for sizes and all that and if the shoot calls for some skin as in this case it might, I'll ask how conservative you want to go. This particular shoot is a tribute to Vaudeville. These are the kinds of shots I want to recreate and use as inspirations. (click images to see larger photos).

Props will include all sorts of fun and interesting items such as hula hoops, knives, balloons, feathers, ropes, etc. Costumes will be awesome (haven't found them yet but they will be awesome) and locations are still being scouted. Think vintage silent movies, circus performers, damsels being tied to train tracks (no one will actually be tied to train tracks). Depending on how many people volunteer to participate hair will be included. (P.S I'm looking for a stylist to hang out with us on the shoots and a makeup person will pay for services or trade).

What are the details?

Time and Date: we start at 10 am and end at 6pm each day. Mar. 23, 24 and 25.
Time slots are first come first serve and there are 12 slots. Depending on how many people sign up you may be allotted more time if you want it.

Time slots for each day are:
10-11:30
11:30-12 -intermission
12-1:30
1:30-2-intermission
2-3:30
3:30-4-intermission
4-5:30
5:30-6-intermission

The shoots will be very fast paced so be ready for that. If you are the first slot you will have to arrive early to get ready.
(intermissions are slotted to get ready between shots)
Each of the three days will be set in a different location.

Place: All around. Locations will be posted on my Facebook page once I reserve some locations.

That's all I have to say for now. If you need more info please let me know. More info will be posted before the shoot. To stay updated check out my events page on Facebook.

I took the kids out for a romp in the brisk fall air. I love when all the leaves are changing color. Fall is the best time of the year. It is the time of the year when you can start wearing cute hats and scarves, not to mention sexy boots. I love boots lol.

The kids loved going outside and playing in the leaves, especially since they got to do it in their "fancy" cloths. I actually took these photo's for the purpose of using them for my Christmas cards. I didn't want really posed photos. I like to capture kids being kids. Those are the best portraits of kids. It is like capturing them in their natural habitat, doing what they actually do. You get more personality in the images that way. Besides, aren't real smiles always better than forced smiles?

Hello!

I'm so glad you stopped by.
Here you will find all the evidence
from my adventures! I love going outdoors to shoot photos of my kids or a client or to just go out and capture the beauty of nature.

There is something about a photograph. It is a moment in time that you can hold in the palm of your hand. There is something truly magical and beautiful about that.

I hope you enjoy looking at my
photos. Please leave comments and tell me about any memories or stories that come to mind while you are looking around.
